That being said – I am a human being with all the greatness and foibles that this implies. I work every day at a job I’m good at. I also scream at the cat. I own a house, am a husband and a father. I also frequently act irresponsibly and wish for a winning lottery ticket so that I could be out from under the stresses of daily life.

All that understood? Good. Now, what you should know is that this is a weird ride. I probably shouldn’t have survived some of the trouble I’ve been in, some of the bad things I’ve experienced, but I have. Now all I have to do is figure out how best to use the remaining time that I by all rights shouldn’t have in the first place – plus do all of that without being paralyzed by the terrible, wonderful fragility of life.

How to Use This Information

This website is an experiment in openness …in public cogitation. I’m a thinking person and it’s been my experience that one of the best ways to determine whether or not your perspective makes sense is to subject it to public scrutiny. The topics of discussion range from: ‘dead serious’ to ‘downright silly’ and sometimes I’ll go from one to the other in the same sentence. I cover the full spectrum because that’s how broad my interests are. I trust that you (the reader) are big, ugly and tough enough to come along for the ride. Real life relies on conscious, purposeful, decisive action and you need a place to get your head together before you go and execute. All that being said: these are words, people, not evidence. If you have come here like a grand jury looking for things to use in an indictment of my character then you have missed the point of the exercise.

For those of you that do not enjoy the words, my only response is: please go find another blog to read then. I can promise that I don’t (and won’t) use this space to openly advocate violence, insurrection or the willful commission of public crimes. That’s the only punishment you can really inflict and it’s the only punishment I will suffer. Anything beyond that goes into: œInternet Tough Guy territory and I outgrew that nonsense years ago. Wordpress interacts better with Facebook than Tumblr does and I think that will make or break people jumping on board.  Here are a few thoughts on what needs to change:&lt;!-- more --&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Improved URL parsing&lt;/strong&gt; - Tumblr is not seamless when it comes to posting URL links on Facebook.  Instead of the nice hyperlink I would get when I post a link on Facebook, I have this massive disgusting URL in the middle of my posts and it looks like Gramma Mabel posting without an &amp;lt;a href&amp;gt;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Thumbnail Portage&lt;/strong&gt; - When I post a Wordpress link in Facebook, FB will grab one of the pictures I&amp;#8217;ve included in that post and use it as a thumbnail - nice way to grab your attention on FB and Tumblr doesn&amp;#8217;t do it automatically.  Anger is the result.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Better Extract Control&lt;/strong&gt; - Wordpress-to-FB gives each blog post a nice big link and then underneath, it gives you part of the extract.  It LOOKS like what you get when you post a newspaper link and that&amp;#8217;s fine.  Not so with Tumblr - my posts just kinda run on and on before disappearing into &amp;#8216;&amp;#8230;&amp;#8217; and then I have to click &amp;#8216;View Post&amp;#8217; to read the rest of it.  Anger is the result.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;I like Tumblr overall and think it&amp;#8217;s a nice change from farting around with Wordpress (Losing your web presence because a WP update doesn&amp;#8217;t like your plug-ins &amp;#8230; hello?).  Still, there are some challenges to be overcome and I hope they get there. &lt;p&gt;Just a brief message to say that TechExec360 is on its way - we landed our 2nd client today.  I&amp;#8217;m very happy and grateful for everyone who is and has lent support, mojo and kind words to me over the past 2 weeks.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Life sometimes throws serious curveballs at you and at first, you&amp;#8217;re sick and scared because you don&amp;#8217;t know how things are going to turn out.  The magic that happens is that you have friends and family that care about you and want you to do well and it&amp;#8217;s overwhelming sometimes to contemplate just how many things you have going for you on any given day.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I dunno if I&amp;#8217;m going to import the rest of Timwoolery.net here or let it remain as an archive - I&amp;#8217;m not keen on going through the headache of resolving a bunch of Wordpress issues and frankly, it&amp;#8217;s getting to be a hassle keeping everything straight between Facebook, Wordpress and everywhere else.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Meanwhile - the great experiment that is &lt;a title="TechExec360" href="http://www.techexec360.com"&gt;TechExec360&lt;/a&gt; is still unfolding - I have much to tell you but I can&amp;#8217;t until the ink on the contract is dry.  I&amp;#8217;m very excited about how well things have turned out, am extremely grateful for the network of people that I have and how willing they were to help me out.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Next week will be our 10th anniversary and I reflect on the fact that, 3 weeks ago all I wanted to do was give my girl a nice party to say thank you for all that she&amp;#8217;s done to make our family a success.  Now, all I want to do is get a steady paycheck and avoid losing my home.  Maybe not a rational response to my situation but ultimately, that&amp;#8217;s what I want to have happen.  It&amp;#8217;s amazing how quickly your priorities can change.&lt;/p&gt;
